These quick and easy mezze are always a crowd-pleaser at family meals and dinner parties.

mezze - moutabal, hummus and tzatziki
moutabal
ingredients:
2 medium aubergines
1 garlic clove, grated
1 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp full fat greek yogurt
1 tbsp olive oil, cold pressed or extra virgin
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
With a fork, pierce the aubergines a few times and then grill them.
When soft, put them in a sieve to strain, then peel them.
Blend all ingredients. Put moutabal in a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Drizzle olive oil on top before eating with pita bread.
hummus
ingredients:
250g chickpeas, cooked
80 ml olive oil, cold pressed or extra virgin
1 garlic clove, grated
Juice of ½ lemon or more
1 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp of water (if you use canned chickpeas, use the liquid from the can)
Salt to taste
Extra: sweet paprika for decoration
Blend all ingredients together.
Put the hummus in a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle sweet paprika on top before eating with pita bread.
tzatziki
ingredients:
3 cucumbers, grated
½ tsp salt
300g full fat Greek yogurt (if I have labneh I like to use half yogurt, half labneh)
1 garlic clove, grated
2 tbsp olive oil, cold pressed or extra virgin
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 bunch of dill, finely chopped
Blend all ingredients together.
Put the tzatziki in a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Drizzle some olive oil on top before eating with pita bread.
